Alaska Court System Legal Notice

Most of Alaska`s rules are promulgated and changed by a Supreme Court (SCO) order that the court issues on a regular basis. Printed versions of all CHOs are available at the Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks Legal Libraries. The Alaska Legislature can also change the court`s rules of procedure by passing a law that expresses its intention to do so with a two-thirds majority of both houses. The Alaska Legislature website provides information on outstanding laws. The Alaska Judicial System Forms Book contains official forms created by the court system. Some of these forms are available here. The forms are also available in all courts, and the form book can be found at the Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks Legal Libraries. Some Alaska Court of Appeals forms are also available online. The Alaska Rules of Justice are the rules for the administration of all state courts and for the practice and procedure in civil and criminal matters established by the Supreme Court under the authority of the Alaska Constitution. The Supreme Court has also issued rules for the practice of law in Alaska and rules of procedure for cases relating to children, probate and appeals. In addition to the presumed test sites that appear on the site map and community table, there is also a list of approved additional test sites in Administrative Bulletin 27.

As explained in Criminal Rule 18(e), a defendant may request that the court transfer the trial to one of these locations if it is: *Please note that the published map of the location is current to July 1, 2015. The Supreme Court has since approved further changes to the site map, but the revised map is not yet available. The Revised Site Map: The Alaska Judicial System Forms Catalog lists all forms created by the Court`s Administrative Office. We provide this catalogue for informational purposes. Contact your local court to request a form listed in the catalog that is not available on the website. ** NOTE: In most courts, parents with children are not heard on a petition for dissolution until both parents have seen the video, listened to the children, or what parents of children need to know about divorce. After watching the video, you will receive a certificate of completion. Check with your local court if the video is required and when you need to file the certificate of completion. For more information about your local court, please visit our Parent Education Requirements page. The NALS of Anchorage Handbook (formerly Anchorage Legal Secretaries Handbook) provides explanations of some legal procedures and language examples that can help you prepare documents in the areas of adoption, bankruptcy, divorce, and probate. The NALS of Anchorage manual is available in the Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks Law Libraries, as well as in the offices of the Courts of Anchorage, Kenai and Palmer. The court system produces explanatory brochures on topics such as bail, the Anchorage Traffic Court, procedures for children in need of help, mental health obligations, misdemeanor prosecutions, and minor offenses.

Publications are available in all courts across the country, and some publications are available here. Criminal Rule 18 explains how the jurisdiction card of the judicial system (4.03 MB) is used to determine the place where the trial of an accused will take place. Legal form books provide an example of language that you can use for documents to be filed with the court. Some forms, like those prepared by the Alaska court system, fill the void, while others only provide language that you need to adapt to your situation. It is important to note that forms are not available for all situations. You often have to create documents without the help of examples, and you should consider consulting a lawyer to help you. Each person`s legal situation is unique. Court staff cannot advise you on which language to use, and library staff cannot select forms for you. The Alaska Civil Jury Instructions and alaska Civil Model Jury Instructions are available online on the court`s website. Alaska Civil Pattern jury instructions are also available in print form from the law libraries of the State Court of Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau in Alaska.

These instructions have not been approved or promulgated by any court or the Alaska Bar Association. Including any recent rule changes currently in force adopted after the publication deadline of the print edition. Since this is a very large file, it takes about 45 seconds to open it. In addition, Palmer will not accept dissolution applications until the parties provide a certificate stating that they have watched the what parents need to know about divorce video or that they have taken the Children in Between online course.
